Travel Information to Nantucket
All teams traveling to Nantuucket must contact our Nantucket Youth Hockey Travel Coordinator, Erin Myers with the following information 1 week prior to the game.
- Team Name (include year & division, ie. Nantucket Bantam B)
- Number of Players Traveling
- Number of Coaches Traveling
- Approximate number of of spectators (this is to help us organize the appropriate transportation to the rink)
Traveling to Nantucket requires a fast ferry ride. Games on Nantucket are scheduled around the boat schedule. The fast ferry is about 1 hour. Both the Hy-Line and the Steamship Authority provide an extremely affordable rate that is ONLY available to players and coaches. Families may travel at a reduced rate if they travel on the same boats as the team. See family/fan booking information below. All games are played at Nantucket Ice, 10 Backus Lane, Nantucket, MA
Reservations will be made on either the Steamship Authority or Hy-Line Cruises. Nantucket Youth Hockey will make and pay for reservations for traveling players and coaches only. Team MUST provide the travel coordinator (Erin Myers acktravelhockey@gmail.com) with number of
coaches and players traveling. Please do this at least one week prior to the
games. Travel to and from the island must be on the SAME ferry for the
discount to apply. Please note that the fast Steamship only operates through
the end of December.
*Parents must make their reservation AFTER the team reservation has been
made. Please wait until your coaches confirm the boat/times they have booked prior to making a reservation.
Hyline Cruises
Parents and siblings traveling with the team can travel at a reduced rate and make their own reservations by calling 800-492-8082 or 508-778-2600.
You must wait for the team to make a reservation and identify the team you are traveling with to receive the reduced rate (rates shown below).
$54 round trip for parents ($1 fuel surcharge for each way, that everyone pays).
$36.50 round trip for siblings (ages 5-12; under 5 free--children traveling free still need a reservation)
Steamship Authority
Parents and siblings traveling with the team can travel at a reduced rate and make their own reservations by calling: (508) 548-5011 x244 & x344 or email groups@steamshipauthority.com
You must identify the team you are traveling with to receive the reduced rates shown below. For travel on the Steamship a minimum of 10 paying passengers is required to receive the group rate; otherwise, full fare rate will apply.
$52 round trip for parents
$27.50 for siblings (ages 5-12; under 5 free--children traveling free still need reservation)
Parking is available near both ferries. For the Hyline use the address 220 Ocean Street Hyannis, MA for directions and park either with the Hy-Line or at the private lots across the street. Parking ranges from $12-$20 per calendar day and is a short walk from the lot.
For the Steamship parking with a shuttle is located at 75 Yarmouth Road, Hyannis. There are also private lots all around the Steamship Terminal. Parking costs vary but you can expect $12-$20 per day.
Nantucket Youth Hockey will provide transportation to and from the boat/rink for players and fans. Please note that our regional transit authority also provides free year round busing around the island. The schedule and stops can be found at Nantucket Regional Transit Authority.
Once your reservation has been booked you can share the information with your families and they can book on the same boat for the discounted rate.
We will share your booking confirmation with the teams. Please share your best guesstimate of spectators so we can ensure everyone has transportation to the rink.
